About EQTrainer

I’m Tom, the developer of EQTrainer. When i started getting serious about my studio recording practice I started using the technique in EQTrainer, listening to a change in EQ and then trying to identify which frequency was boosted. It helped me so much, but there weren’t great tools available to keep practicing. So i made my own, in plugin format. There is so much snake oil in the world of audio, so much of “the emperor’s new clothes”, and for me the antidote has been deep listening. I use this technique on my DAW sessions as a way to acquaint myself with what is going on in each frequency range, and it helps me gain confidence that i’m actually hearing what i am hearing. Its helped broaden my understanding of music generally and within mixing, recording and sound design. I hope it helps you!

I release original music under the name Broken Every Angle and make records in My Studio in Mexico City.
